About the Speaker:
John Newman is the President of Laser Technology Inc. in Norristown, PA a company he founded in 1977. John has a Bs. In Physics, Lake Forest College, worked for Hughes Aircraft from 1973-75 and in the nuclear power field from 1975-1977 when he started LTI. He led the development of production holography NDT systems for Pratt & Whitney and co-invented Shearography, delivering the first system in 1986 to Northrop for the B-2 Bomber program. John has led the development at LTI of advanced Shearography technology and systems for a wide range of programs including the Space Shuttle, F-22, Cessna Citation X and the X-33. He is Chairman of the ASNT Laser Methods Committee and ASTM E7.10.2 Shearography Methods.
John is a member of the Optical Society of America and the American Institute for Aeronautics & Astronautics. He holds 48 patents, enjoys skiing and sailing with his family.
